UDM was host to Michigan - Flint in the 3rd Annual Outdoor Game at Clark Park on Saturday afternoon. In a game that became an instant classic both teams played a great game in front of an outstanding crowd. Playing outside adds a completely different element to the game. Goalies had to battle the sun all afternoon and the players had to adopt to much slower ice. The game would go back and forth. Both teams found themselves with the lead and had to fight off the weather to try and maintain it. At the end of the 3rd period the score was 3-3. In the 4-4 overtime, players were fighting to find space to create a scoring chance. This game was a big two points in the MCHC Red Division. With less than a minute to go, UDM had the puck in the offensive zone and were looking to end the game before it got to a shoot out. Sophmore Forward, Zach Morgan had his best shift of the season and found himself alone with under 5 seconds to go in the overtime period. Zach took a shot and followed his own rebound to beat the UofM - Flint goalie on the short side with just .1 second left in the period. Zach's goal gave UDM the win and a big two points in the MCHC.
